First Communion Gifts

First Holy Communion is the day a child receives Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. In most parishes it happens in the spring, around second grade, and the whole family comes to Mass to celebrate.

These designs are about the Eucharist itself. Ecce Panis Angelorum, "Behold the bread of angels," comes from St. Thomas Aquinas's sequence Lauda Sion. Pie Pelicane comes from his hymn Adoro Te Devote, where Christ is the pelican who feeds her young with her own blood. Deus Caritas Est shows the loaves and fishes, and the Sacred Heart, the Miraculous Medal and Ave Maria are classic choices for the day.

My kids' tees right now are Halloween and All Saints designs, so the shirts on this page are adult tees, good for parents, godparents and grandparents to wear to the First Communion Mass or give as a keepsake gift. Everything is printed to order, so please check the delivery estimate on Etsy before the big day. Tap any design to see it on Etsy.
